Beth Ditto (vocalist for the band The Gossip) has never been one to shy away from experimental pop. She is always shifting around the pop landscape looking for a new style to wrap her powerhouse voice around. Her capacity to transcend beyond the typical candor of the female indie-rock vocalist as The Gossip's frontwoman, as well as her refreshingly unorthodox views on sexuality and self-image have gotten her recognized not only as an up-and-comer in the industry, but as a voice-cum-power to be reckoned with. That being said, I can't say that I could be much happier about the fact that she's decided to team up with Simian Mobile Disco for her new unreleased and untitled solo EP. She has pulled back a bit and, in doing so, is releasing an entirely more vulnerable and intimate side of her vocal performance, all the while still staying true to her messy alt-diva roots.
